Beach School

It’s time to explore the shore!

In a world that is so heavily dependent on technology, we feel new generations of children are losing touch with the natural world around them. Therefore alongside our fantastic classroom facilities we also value the importance of outdoor learning and aim to re-connect our students to the natural world.

Cleveley’s coastline is a beautiful, wild and ever changing environment; making it a superb natural learning resource for children. Sharon and Jack are both highly qualified Beach School practitioners and run Beach school sessions weekly.

What our Beach school sessions may include:

  • Den Building
  • Fire building (within a controlled and safe environment)
  • Rock pool paddling
  • Shell collecting
  • Problem solving games
  • Fantasy role-play activities
  • Treasure Hunting
  • Tidal studies
  • Risk management and safety lessons
  • Community beach cleans
  • Seasonal studies- Monitoring and observing changes the children notice: daily, monthly, seasonally and over the school year.
