COVID Funding

The Catch-Up Premium is £650 million worth of funding that has been allocated to schools across the country on a funding basis of £80 per pupil over the period 2020/21.

There is significant adverse effect on pupils’ well-being and achievement due to the Coronavirus pandemic especially lost learning. The funding aims to support schools to ensure the impact of lost learning is reversed in a targeted manner.

While schools can use their funding in a way that suits their cohort and circumstances, they are expected to use this funding for specific activities which will help pupils catch up on missed education. Our aim is to use the funding to resume teaching a normal curriculum as quickly as possible following partial or full school closure.
